Bridesmaid Gifts

OK, So my youngest son Kyle is getting married to his fiance Arielle. I made 10 make-up bags for the bridesmaids and the guest book girls. I think they turned out pretty good considering I have never put in a zipper before. Ya I know some of the zippers open right to left and instead of left to right, oh well at least they work. LOL

Doing this gave me a chance to try out my embroidery machine which worked like a dream. The biggest problem was figuring out which font to use. My friends Quinnie and Marty helped me finish them up one afternoon. Thanks for help friends.

Now I just need to make me one.

My friend Angi at Sew Loquacious has been making a lot of neat bags with pic on them.

Hoping everything for the wedding goes smoothly.

Arwen 2nd B'DAY

Been getting in some swim time at our pool this summer. Arwen my GD is getting ready to jump in the pool and
YEAH! Daddy caught her.

Arwen really enjoyed herself on her Special Day. At the age of 2 you know what to do with all those gifts.
Perfect picture timing Me-maw, taking that bite of cake.

TaTa for now,

KEEPING BUSY :)

Oh, I just LUV chenille. I made this chenille scarf for my sons fiance. You have to fold your 3 yard piece of home spun fabric a certain way and then cut all your strips on the bias.
I taught a bunch of ladies in my quilt group at the rec center how to make this.

Next up is my mystery quilt block made from my fabric at the lock-in we just did last sat.
Most everyone does not get the quilt done but you get a good start on it.

Then around 8:30 pm that night Theresa and Sharon (the ladies who design the patterns & put this fun activity together) show you what your quilt pattern will look like. I chose to make the throw size (this brown quilt is the throw size) but, you could make the queen or a king size.

I think the one Theresa made is a queen size (quilt pic below). Oh yeah, and you had the choice to do the dark version or the light version. I chose the dark version like the brown quilt and Theresa's is the light version.

MYSTERY QUILT

Saturday March 12 is the day for my Mystery Quilt Lock-In. Got my fabric, hope I made the right choices. About 55-60 quilting ladies will be sewing and munching our buns off. My motto is the faster you sew the more calories you'll burn. LOL. This fun will go from 10 am to 10 pm Saturday.

MY NEWEST PROJECT

This what I have been working on. I had this Eeyore fleece and didn't want to do a double layered tied blanket so looking on the good ole' internet I came across a You Tube video on crocheting edge of fleece with yarn. You have to have a special rotary cutter blade to make the tiny hole for you to crochet in. (Skip Stitch Blade) You crochet your foundation row with single crochets
And then I did a shell pattern for my second row. It really looks good. I used a J hook for the foundation row and a H hook for the shells.
I have a couple more pieces of fleece I will be doing this too. You should try this it is very easy.
